Learn from CSUN business school alumni, Steven Katz, on how JPL/CalTech software startup Oak Grove Systems was revived after becoming victim to the 2001 technology crash. As a key member of the Oak Grove executive team, Steven lead the sales and marketing efforts which helped grow the company from 3 to 60 customers and from zero to over $1 million in annual sales within 1 year resulting in Oak Grove’s successful acquisition in 2005. Steven will share how the patterns and insights learned at Oak Grove can help any company revive themselves – whether from the ruins like Oak Grove or just from stagnant growth.

His experience includes more than 20 years in high-tech sales, marketing and product development for such innovative firms as Sprint, Sameday.com, Merisel, CMP Media, NMB Technologies and Microsoft. Immediately prior to launching Azimuth Marketing Group (www.azimuthmarketing.com), Steven was VP of Sales and Marketing and developed a comprehensive marketing and channel partnership strategy for the JPL/CalTech business process management software startup, Oak Grove Systems - resurrecting their business and leading to their eventual acquisition by Atlanta-based enterprise software company Seagull Software. Steven earned a BS in Business Administration, Marketing from California State University, Northridge and a MBA from Pepperdine's Graziadio School of Business and Management. |
